Oxted Offshore Sailing Club is an informal and friendly club with no membership subscriptions, fees or formal application processes.

The only personal data we keep on file is your name and email address. This is stored electronically in our Google email account and in a mailing list facility provided by Mailchimp. We use this information to contact you on a one-to-one basis or to send you our Monthly Newsletter and occasional emails about important Club news and events.

Your personal data is not stored in any other paper or electronic files or databases accessed or administered by current or past officers of Oxted Offshore Sailing Club.

We have set preferences with our service providers to ensure that your personal data on their servers is not shared with, or distributed to, any third parties. Access to our accounts with Google mail and Mailchimp are password protected, and both service providers have their own data security policies to ensure your personal data is safeguarded. Under the new GDPR Regulations, effective from 25 May 2018, you have the right to access and correct your personal data stored with Google mail and Mailchimp. You can ask us to remove your personal data from these records, and you can object to our using your personal data for most purposes. You can do this in writing to oosailing [at] gmail [dot] com and we will comply with your request within 30 days.

This policy was created on 24 April 2018 to explain what personal data Oxted Offshore Sailing Club holds about you, what steps we have taken to comply with the data security and consent requirements within the 2018 General Data Protection Regulations, and your rights regarding the data we hold.
